Cookie Policy

What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Websites can also save data in your browser in other ways, such as local storage and IndexedDB. This policy covers all of them.
In plain words: Websites can leave small notes in your browser. This page lists every note Mi Karchi leaves.
The short version
Mi Karchi only uses storage that's needed for the site to work. We don't use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, tracking pixels or social media widgets, and nothing on our pages loads from Google, Meta or any ad network. Because of that, we don't ask for cookie consent. A short notice tells you this on your first visit.
If we ever add optional cookies, we'll update this policy first and ask for your consent before setting them.
In plain words: No tracking. Only what's needed to sign in and check people in.
What we use
Cookies
| Name | Who it's for | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
mk_session | Organizers who sign in | Keeps you signed in to the dashboard. It holds a random code, can't be read by scripts on the page, and is only sent over HTTPS. | 30 days, or until you sign out |
Guests who register for an event get no cookies.
Local storage
| Name | Who it's for | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
mk:cookie-notice | All visitors | Remembers that you closed the cookie notice | Until you clear your browser data |
mk:door-theme | Door staff | Remembers light or dark mode on the check-in screen | Until you clear your browser data |
IndexedDB (door devices only)
When a device is used as a door station for an event, Mi Karchi saves the following in the browser so check-in keeps working without internet:
| Name | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|
mk:[event]:manifest | The guest list and ticket status for that event (names, emails, form answers) | Until the device is cleared |
mk:[event]:queue | Scans waiting to be sent to the server | Until they've been sent |
mk:[event]:conflicts | Scans the server rejected, for door staff to review | Until the device is cleared |
mk:[event]:settings | Station name and door settings | Until the device is cleared |
mk:[event]:lastSync | When the device last synced | Until the device is cleared |
Organizers should clear door devices after an event.
In plain words: One sign-in cookie for organizers. Door devices keep the guest list so the door works offline.
Your choices
Everything above is needed for the part of Mi Karchi you're using, so there's nothing to switch off in a banner. You can still delete or block storage in your browser:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies / Site data
- Safari: Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
If you block the mk_session cookie, you won't be able to sign in to the dashboard. If you clear a door device during an event, it will need internet to download the guest list again, and scans that haven't been sent yet will be lost.
In plain words: You can clear it all in your browser settings. Just don't clear a door device in the middle of an event.
Changes
If we change the cookies or storage we use, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
